Other treatments for this condition are available from your local pharmacy and you should have explored these options prior to considering surgery. If however, they have not been suitable for you and the condition is damaging your self esteem the following procedures can be considered.
Injection treatment: blocks the nerve impulses to the sweat glands so that they produce less sweat. This treatment must be repeated every 9-12 months. This is the number one option when it comes to hands and foreheads, because it doesn’t leave any scars but also can be used to axillae. The procedure is done as outpatient without sedation or local anesthesia.
Surgery: Removal of some of the skin can be a good alternative. But this leaves a scar. It is in the axillae (armpit) this procedure is used. We remove 2/3 of the hairy area which reduces the sweating. In principal this procedure is permanent.
Liposuction: Can be a good alternative and it doesn’t leave any scars and in principal is also permanent.

To get optimal results and avoid complications
Avoid stress, stay out of the sun, eat healthily, keep your weight within a normal BMI range, exercise regularly, and refrain from alcohol for 2 days prior to surgery and 2 weeks after surgery. Please refrain from smoking for at least 1 week before surgery and a minimum of 2 weeks after surgery as smoking can interfere with the final result.
Downtime following surgery
Heavy physical exercise and strenuous body movement or lifting must not be undertaken for a minimum of 2 weeks following the surgery.
You can still move and do normal everyday things the day after surgery.
The final results will emerge between 3 to 6 months following surgery. There is very rarely disappointment in the patient’s perception of the success of the surgery
