Breast enlargement with implants

Some women have under-developed breast tissue. Others have small or sagging breast tissue following pregnancy. This can be cosmetically and socially inhibiting to the self confidence of the patient.
Both groups are candidates for breast enlargement with implants, also called breast augmentation. Breast augmentation is accomplished by surgically inserting an implant behind each breast gland; alternatively they can be placed under the breast muscle or under the muscle fascia.

During your initial consultation with your surgeon, you will discuss and decide in advance the size and form of the implant you wish to use to achieve your desired result. This is discussed with your surgeon directly and if desired also one of our nurses.

The scar will normally be positioned under the breast in the natural fall of the breast or around the nipple and is around 3 to 4 cm long. Your incision is closed with dissolvable sutures which mean that we do not have to remove stitches. In some rare cases we use drains to discharge fluid build-up from the cavity around the implant. The drain is normally removed the following day.

The surgery does not give right to a sick note. You should restrain with physical training for at least 4 weeks after surgery. In the beginning the scar will be red, itchy and hard. In time it will lighten and soften. The scar can be hidden under a bra or a bathing-suit and will not be visible when wearing low neck clothes. We recommend you tape the scars for a couple of months after surgery.
Oslo Plastic Surgery Clinic uses the latest and finest grade Silicone implants with soft touch style which has a life time guarantee. Oslo Plastic

Surgery Clinic uses the Inspira implants made by Allergan which are of the highest quality. The implants are produced in a FDA (Food and Administration) approved fabric. Allergan has long been a favorite for approved implants for breast enlargements and reconstruction surgery with high levels of patient satisfaction and excellent standards.

llergan has produced breast implants for more than 25 years. The implants are manufactured using a bio dimensional technique. It is possible for the surgeon and patient to choose from many different sizes to find the best shape to get optimal results.

The implant consists of silicone, but it is also possible to use other type of implants such as saline and a combination of saline and silicone, when the outer part of the implant consists of saline. Your surgeon will explain all the options available to you in detail.
You also have choices with regard to shape. You can select a round or anatomical shaped implant, which look more natural.

Sometimes we can combine a breast enlargement with a breast-uplift (Mastopexy), if the breast tissue has sagged. See more information about this procedure on the breastlift combined with breast implant details.

To get the optimal results and avoid complications, we recommend your weight to be as normal as possible. If you are a smoker you have to refrain from smoking at least 2 weeks before surgery and 2 weeks after surgery.

Breastfeeding will be possible after surgery and also mammography screening. Reports of Silicone implants damaging general health, causing auto-immune disease have not been scientifically proven despite many international studies being carried out in the past 20 years.
