Abdominal Separation

Split abdominal muscles also called Diastasis recti is a very common condition that affects mainly all women who have undergone childbirth. The condition can also affect men, but is nowhere near as common as for women after childbirth.

Split stomach muscles occur when the muscles are put under too much pressure. This causes the muscles to separate and what is underneath can emerge. This can mean that the intestines push through the muscles and a small bulge forms between the divided abdominal muscles.

Split stomach muscles can contract on their own after pregnancy, but if this does not happen, it is possible to solve this with surgery. This involves repairing the abdominal wall and reducing the space between the muscles. Which method is used depends on the patient and will be decided after consultation.

After the procedure, muscle strength will improve considerably, especially if the space has been more than 3 cm.

Our treatments

Mommy Makeover

After pregnancy and childbirth, it is rare for the body to return to the way it was before. Mommy Makeover consists of a series of interventions to reverse the effect pregnancy has had on the body. This can be interventions such as firming interventions, breast reduction/breast augmentation, liposuction. This varies based on needs from person to person and the operation time varies based on what needs to be done. Mommy Makeover is a term for doing several interventions during an operation.
