1. Dr. Kalaaji gave a lecture on ALCL, (anaplastic large cell lymphoma, ALCL) which is the term for a type of cancer that may be related to implanted breast implants.
It should be mentioned that this is very rare and therefore women are not recommended to remove the implants and also do not discourage new ones from inserting breast prostheses.
2. Dr. Kalaaji, as a leader in the Norwegian Association for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (NFEP), went to the brink of developing a breast implant register here in Nor58ge which they have in eg Sweden and Finland.
He explained about the meetings the association has had with countries that have developed this register and received good tips on how to implement it. NFEP continues to work to create such a registry.
