STATEMENT ON NEW TREND IN COSMETIC SURGICAL TO KK

Oslo Plastic Surgeon General Dr. Kalaaji commented on the changing plastic trend in a report in KK.

«I would estimate that about 5 percent of those who have had implants will replace them after five years, about 10 percent will when 10 years have passed and even more when 15 years have passed,» he says, adding that three main explanations that often recur in patients requesting to replace or remove implants.

«It is that pregnancy and breastfeeding have changed the breasts, that they have increased sharply or lost weight or that they have had capsule formation in the implants, but that is rare,» he says. In the past year he has also seen another trend, namely that more and more people are choosing to enlarge their breasts with their own fat – an intervention that can be seen as more natural. In addition, some also choose to replace their silicone inserts with their own grease.

«So far this year we have performed twice as many breast enlargements with our own fat as last year,» says Kalaaji.
