Patients Since 2008, the Oslo Plastic Surgery Clinic has performed 49 breast enlargements (in 43 patients) with the use of fat grafting to treat hypoplasia mammae and asymmetry, occasionally in combination with other procedures such as abdominoplasty and mastopexy. Patients fulfilled five criteria to become a candidate for surgery: patients do not want to use foreign objects; have the desire for fat to be removed; have a realistic expectation of how much breast size could be increased; have no history of breast cancer; and agree to undergo radiographic follow-up.
AimFat grafting has been a well-known clinical method for reconstruction of small defects. Recently it has been used for the face and breast reconstruction and breast augmentation as an alternative to breast implants.
